An exhibition zone where visitors can learn about Hong Kong’s history of water supplies, for example the difficult time during rationing in the past of Hong Kong and the development of water supply infrastructure, etc. through a series of interactive exhibits.
This zone is equipped with a series of interactive exhibits and games including, simulation of fishing in reservoirs and acting as a waterworks inspector. All the reservoirs and catchment areas in Hong Kong are introduced in this exhibition zone where visitors can learn through interesting games.
This Dome Theatre presents information related to water resources with animations to the visitors. An animated movie about an adventure in Water Treatment Work, namely “Water Journey”, will be screened in the theatre.
Visitors can view the operations of the grey water recycling and rainwater harvesting systems through designated windows together with projected animation. Visitors can learn about the process of how grey water and rainwater convert to usable non-potable water.
An area that provides demonstrations on irregular intervals to visitors, for examples, experiment and mini-competition on water conservation. This exhibition zone introduces several benches made up of retired water meters that gives attribute of environmental protection to H2OPE Centre.
An exhibition zone where visitors can learn about treatment processes and Hong Kong Drinking Water Standards through a series of interactive exhibits.
It is designated for kids to indulge in pleasures. Kids can act as little engineers to understand the various items and elements related to water cycle. They are allowed to learn through games and get a thorough understanding of water resources.
Through a series of interactive exhibits, visitors can get a thorough understanding of the techniques, equipment and materials adopted in waterworks projects and plumbing works.
Through demonstration of the products of different plumbing fixtures and water consuming devices such as washing machines, urinal equipment and water closets, etc., “Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme” (WELS) is introduced in this exhibition zone. Visitors can also participate in a virtual shopping challenge to select the most water efficient product and apply what they have learnt in daily lives.
An exhibition zone where visitors can get a thorough understanding of work and the new technology on water sustainability, including exploration of new water resources, desalination technology, etc.
This exhibition zone provides a spherical globe projector where images and videos regarding the topic of water and climate change are shown.
A place serving as a classroom and a temporary exhibition area as well as a maker workshop. Various creative maker activities on water can be arranged.
